WHO ARE WE?

The Ostomy Association of Melbourne Inc is not for profit and an incorporated association catering for the appliance needs of ostomates. The association is strongly supported by Cabrini Hospital and operates a distribution centre from a shopfront at 152 Wattletree Road Malvern.

The objectives of the association are to help people cope with a stoma, to provide information and encouragement concerning all aspects of stoma care, to distribute free stoma cares appliances and pharmaceutical items approved by the Commonwealth Government.

The Association is a non-Government self help organisation with a committee of management elected from and by members. It employs a full time manager who has the responsibility for

The manager is assisted by part time staff and by a number of volunteer members.

OUR MISSION

To maximise our contribution to the wellbeing of members by providing the highest level of service through cost effective and innovative management and confidence through an appropriate level of professional care and assistance.

GENERAL MEETINGS

These are held three times a year and provide an opportunity for relatives and friends to assemble, listen to guest speakers, ask questions and learn the general business of the Association. The meetings enable the more established members to give support to others and pass on the benefit of their experience of actually living with a stoma. It also permits members to meet and discuss appliances with company representatives.

STOMAL THERAPY DEPARTMENT

Our members can use the services of the Stomal Therapy Nurse. Monday, Wednesday and Friday located at Cabrini Medical Centre. Isabella St, Malvern
